What is

Golden Hour Barbecue?

Nebraska is known for its breathtaking sunsets and sunrises, and Alliance's Golden Hour is absolutely stunning. Being that cooking great barbecue is lengthy, it allows us to embrace those golden moments twice a day.

We're here to make the smoked meat experience accessible to hardworking locals and travelers alike. We're committed to authenticity, quality, and enjoying a good meal with the people we care about most.

  • What Makes Texas Barbecue Different?

  • What makes Texas barbecue exceptional is the process of slow-smoking meats over a long period of time. Often, a whole day. Our offset smokers use only Post Oak splits from central Texas for fuel & we put love & attention into every slice of meat that leaves the cutting block.

  • It's a craft that demands patience and respect, as each head of cattle provides just two briskets, making the process remarkably delicate. We have no choice but to take our craft seriously to make the best meal possible.

  • Nothing is more fun than standing in line with your crew, sipping a drink, and soaking in the mouthmelting smell of handcrafted sausages, carefully cooked brisket, ribs, and other wood-fired goodies. All while eagerly waiting your turn at the cutting block.

  • Golden Hour Barbecue is the food and hospitality dream of Flor and Fletcher Sheridan, a dynamic husband and wife duo. Their journey began in college, and they spent nearly a decade exploring the world of food while pursuing their careers.

  • Pitmaster

Originally from Georgetown, Texas, Fletcher's love of cooking began at an early age as his dad would include him in prep such as peeling garlic, deveining shrimp or making salads. It wasn’t long before he was cooking full meals for his family. Fletcher's journey led him from central Texas to Nebraska, where he played tennis at the University of Nebraska at Kearney. While in college he worked at local Luke and Jake's BBQ. Which ignited nostalgia from home, and the idea of one day owning a Texas Barbecue. After graduating with a degree in GIS, Fletcher worked in various parts of the country, including Nashville, New Hampshire, and Austin. Eventually, his love for Nebraska (and Flor) brought him back. After spending a year in Kearney working for the BBQ once again, cooking for a local chef couple, and teaching tennis; Flor graduated and they left for Texas. Fletcher honed his barbecue skills in Houston as Pitmaster at renowned establishments such as Truth Barbecue, Roegels Barbecue Co, and Dozier's BBQ. His passion extends beyond barbecue, as showcased on his personal Instagram, where non-barbecue bites and tasty cocktails have frequented the feed. Fletcher's heart is deeply invested in the Newberry building and western Nebraska's landscape, and he's eager to share his love of food with you.

  • Operations Coordinator

An Alliance native, Flor met Fletcher during her freshman year at the University of Nebraska at Kearney. After earning her degree, she spent years teaching third through sixth-grade math in Houston, ultimately serving as a 3-5 math interventionist at a charter school.

Beyond teaching, Flor juggled multiple passions, all of which contributed to her ability to manage logistics with precision. She thrives on both creative and analytical challenges, fully embracing the textbook definition of an ENTJ.

With a love for food, spreadsheets, and event planning, this role is a perfect fit. When she’s not watching the fires, keeping operations running smoothly, or taste-testing Fletcher’s latest creation, you’ll find her at the register, wrangling gnomes around the building, or helping out at Carnegie Art Center events.

Our Location

In the spirit of Alliance's rich history, our restaurant is situated on the ground floor of a historic 1914 building, once a hub for the community's past. We take pride in honoring that legacy by showcasing artifacts from its previous stewards, paying tribute to the spirit of community that has been cherished here for generations.
